FROM THE EDITORS DESK: August 2010
I have been a busy
beekeeper on my virtual farm, Farmville. I have 4
virtual bee hives and they contain 200 bees with only
one queen for 4 hives. Not beekeeper accurate, but
fun nonetheless. All I have to do is click on the
hives to collect my honey each day and earn hundreds
of virtual coins. In order to build the hives I had
to collect wooden beams, nails and bricks from my
fellow Farmville neighbors. One of them asked what
you need bricks for to build a hive. A fellow
beekeeper replied, the brick is to put on top to keep
the hive lid from blowing off in the wind! They had
that part right.
Next week I will have to do the real harvesting of
the real honey, a much more difficult job. Sticky,
hot and heavy, I am looking forward to a lovely honey
harvest this year. Now to hope for warm, not hot and
dry weather that week.
