SUNY Farmingdale will host the "Garden Festival" on Saturday and Sunday, May 31st and June 1st, from 10 AM to 5 PM, at the Garden Center. There are many more sales and events out there for the gardener. Check out Newsday's "Calendar" and other local publications.
Anyway, now is the time to plant your tomato plants, which I always purchase at SUNY Farmindales' Plant Sale. They also have terrific peppers and hanging planters.
Plant your dahlias, cannas and daylilies.
Sow your remaining veggie seeds and apply liquid fertilizer to the early annuals an vegetables.
Keep your garden watered and try for "weed-free" and you will have a bountiful harvest.
"Don't break your back!"
