I took Jim Bob’s lecture to heart and made a new
beautiful butterfly and bee garden in my backyard. I
planted many of the recommended plants that the bees
should love and the results are wonderful as you can
see here.
But the bees have been totally ignoring the new digs with the exception of one or two who have visited the Echinacea. I have lots of Bumbles and small bees and other flying insects. A few butterflies have stopped by, and of course I have traffic of birds to my feeders. But the best part of this new garden has been the arrival of a pair of hummingbirds. They have visited all the red flowers and the butterfly bush and I quickly put up a set of hummingbird feeders. I can’t believe how feisty they are, they chase away the chickadees and cardinals. The finches don’t seem to be quite as afraid of them. I’m having a ball sitting in my hammock and watching my new little friends. Now just waiting for the bees to discover the new lovely feast. Hope you are being well.
