FROM THE EDITORS DESK: March 2009

Well, it takes a lot to get this Queen Bee down, but this time it happened. I had been feeling crummy since the flu this January and a few weeks ago started having shortness of breath that I attributed to my asthma and the fact that my extra pounds has me out of shape. But it started to get worse and worse and I knew I better check with my asthma doc, but of course we had the 12 inches of snow that day. So I waited till the following day, went to work and called him from there. He said go the ER. Well it’s a good thing I listened, because it was not my asthma, I had multiple pulmonary embolisms. Now how that happened is a mystery, he has no idea why it would happen just like that, but it’s a good thing I came in when I did. So after a myriad of tests and lots of antibiotics and blood thinners and steroids I am on the mend.

Thank all of you for your prayers and kind thoughts, visits and phone calls. They uplifted me and kept my spirits going. The healing power of love and prayer was ever present and I will be better than new because now I have to get into shape after a period of resting, which I am being diligent about. I am allowed to type, so newsletters will be done, and I will be out of work for a few weeks.

The bees have been flying yesterday and today, although yesterday they all had little green hats on for St.Patrick’s Day. They said something about going to a parade! Hope they didn’t get into anyones Guinness!

Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting. I met Paul Cappey many years ago when Clifford called from a meeting while I was at work and said, Oh by the way I am bringing someone home for dinner. So I fed him leftovers, and he’s still coming back to LIBC. Thanks Paul.

I’ve had lots of “ I want to be a member “ emails and I hope all these newbees will be at the meeting and don’t forget to bring your dues everyone. Let’s try to make Harry’s life easy by paying early!!!
