Minutes of Meeting for November 2007
Sunday, November 11, 2007
With a mere forty-eight hour notice, St. Paul’s came
through and let us use Phipps Hall Meeting Room in
their Parish Hall at no charge. Notifying everyone
was a challenge since not everyone has e-mail; of
those with e-mail, not everyone checks their “in-box”
frequently. Some folks were notified via telephone.
The end result was that our guest speaker and
twenty-eight members and guests were in attendance.
The meeting was called to order at 2:40 P.M. by President Joanne Thomas. The Flag Salute followed. Joanne moved right to our Guest Speaker, Patty Pulliam assisted by her husband Serge, from The Backyard Beekeepers Club in Connecticut. The topic included using beeswax to make molded decorations as well as various creams and lotions for topical use; samples were given to all those present. Patty answered questions from the floor during her presentation. It was a most interesting presentation. At 4:30, the presentation being concluded, Joanne re-convened the meeting to take care of several items of business, including the Holiday Party arrangements, the very successful LIBC tee shirt sales, plans for the 2008 club Meetings and the announcement that EAS 2008 will be held in Kentucky, the farthest West that EAS has ever held a conference.
Meeting adjourned at 6:00 P.M. followed by refreshments.
Respectfully Submitted.
